The Gamelet will provide a virtual environment of a General Ward where the patient is being treated. The player, an Orthopedic Surgeon, is attending to the patient admitted for cellulitis.
The Orthopedic team refers the patient to a dermatologist. However, the nurse in-charge had already taken the initiative to refer to the wound nurse. The conflicting orders confuses the Nurse-in-charge and she chooses to follow the wound nurse’s recommendation, which annoys the dermatologist and causes her to reiterate her instructions.
The Nurse-in-charge calls the Orthopedic Surgeon to clarify. The Orthopedic Surgeon must then maange the delicate situation by deploying the aapropriate TeamSTEPPS tools.
